Chapter 90 - The Awakening of the Black Fleet: The Ghost Signal Returns

Claire stared at the glowing tablet, her blood running cold.
She had fought through an army to save her babies from being weapons. And now, the monstrous machinery of the world's most powerful crime empire sat in the palm of her hand, legally bound to the six-month-old child sleeping peacefully against her chest.
"We refuse it," Claire said instantly, her voice trembling with protective rage. "We burn the keys. We erase the accounts. Dante, we take the boys and we disappear. An island in the Pacific, a farm in Montana—somewhere no one will ever find us."
Dante looked at the screen, then at Claire, his hazel eyes darkening with a complex, dangerous realization. "You can't burn this, Claire. Salvatore designed the failsafe. If these accounts aren't claimed by a recognized bloodline within forty-eight hours, the dead-man switch releases the Ouroboros files to every hostile intelligence agency on the planet. World War Three starts in two days unless someone holds the leash."
"Then we hold it together," Claire whispered, gripping Dante’s hand tightly. "We don't become him. We use his empire to hunt down every last viper he ever spawned."
Suddenly, the cabin's red interior lights flickered and died.
The hum of the VTOL's turbines sputtered, dropping half an octave as the avionics screens flashed wildly with static.
"What’s happening?" Claire gasped, clutching both boys against her chest.
"Turbulence? An EMP residual?" Dante yelled toward the cockpit.
"Negative!" Miller shouted back, fighting the flight controls as the aircraft suddenly plummeted three hundred feet through the clouds. "Our comms just got overridden! We’re being targeted by an active phased-array radar from sea level!"
The aircraft broke through the thick cloud layer, stabilizing five hundred feet above the dark, rolling waves of the North Atlantic.
Claire pressed her face against the thick reinforced cabin window.
Below them, emerging from the maritime fog in total radio silence, was not a naval fleet. It was an armada of six black, unmarked super-frigates—hulking, stealth warships flying no flag, their railgun turrets elevated and swiveling in perfect unison toward the descending VTOL.
And on the encrypted speaker system inside their cabin, a sound echoed that made Claire’s breath stop entirely in her throat.
It was not static.
It was the clear, distinct sound of a woman humming a soft, chilling lullaby—the exact lullaby Claire’s mother used to sing to her before she died.
Then, a voice broke through the speaker—smooth, young, and sounding terrifyingly identical to Claire's own voice:
"Did you really think grandfather died on that rock, sister? He's sitting right here beside me on the flagship. Bring my nephews down... or we blow your transport out of the sky."
In Claire's arms, baby Leo’s eyes suddenly snapped open.
May you like
And for the first time in his life, the child didn't cry.
He stared straight toward the lead warship below, smiled, and giggled as the violet light flared in his eyes with blinding, uncontrollable fury.
