Chapter 87 - The Mother’s Reckoning: The Master Code Unleashed

Before Salvatore could react, Claire did not hand over the children.
She ripped the plastic name tag from her chest, snapped it in half with her bare hands, and exposed the miniature copper contact strip hidden beneath the laminated surface.
With blinding speed, she threw herself backward toward the main laboratory terminal, slamming the exposed strip directly into the universal diagnostic port.
"Override code: ELEANOR VANCE!" Claire screamed. "AUTHORIZE PURGE!"
The entire room shrieked as a wall of warning alarms detonated across the facility. The automated turrets jerked violently, their targeting algorithms scrambled as hundreds of red screens flashed to blinding amber.
*EMERGENCY PROTOCOL ACTIVATED. MATRIARCH CLEARANCE CONFIRMED. BIOMETRIC SLAVERY BYPASSED.*
Salvatore’s eyes widened in sheer, naked panic. "Kill her! Destroy the console!"
Elena lunged for the manual override, but Dante moved faster. With a feral roar, Dante abandoned the gun, stepping inside Salvatore’s guard, grabbing his grandfather by the throat, and hurling the old man violently against the primary cryo-chamber. The thick tempered glass cracked under the impact.
Dante turned and struck Elena with an open-palm strike that sent the traitorous doctor crashing into an instrument cart, unconscious before she hit the floor.
"Claire! The failsafe!" Dante yelled as sparks rained down from the ceiling conduits.
The two babies on Claire’s chest began to vocalize—not a cry of pain, but a strange, melodic coo that harmonized with the shrill alarm tones of the facility. The violet light poured from their chests, flooding the terminal, surging through the island’s fiber-optic cables like liquid fire.
On the massive tactical wall screen, the telemetry maps of thirty military satellites suddenly flickered, broke connection with Salvatore’s servers, and redirected their uplinks into the local encrypted drive inside Claire’s silver pendant.
The Ouroboros weapon system wasn't firing on the world.
The infants were using the facility's power grid to permanently sever the satellites from the network, bricking the orbital weapons in high-altitude space.
"No!" Salvatore screamed, hauling himself up from the shattered glass, blood pouring from his silver hair. "You fool! You have destroyed fifty years of work! You have doomed us all!"
"We didn't doom you, grandfather," Dante said, his voice dropping to an icy, lethal register as he stood over the broken patriarch. "You built a cage for gods. And you forgot that gods do not obey their jailers."

Deep beneath the floor, the primary reactor groaned. Deprived of the cooling regulators overridden by Eleanor’s code, the thermal generators entered an irreversible meltdown cascade.
