Chapter 57 - Breach of the Abyssal Spire

"We won't test you, Grandfather," Marcos said smoothly. "We will simply demonstrate your obsolescence."
Marcos tossed the metallic drive into the air. Before Aurelius or his guards could react, Mateo caught it and jammed it directly into the central master console of the Spire.
*BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!*
A blinding azure shockwave pulsed across the terminal screens, instantly overwhelming the blood-red diagnostics of the Genesis Spire.
"Alert! Unauthorized core override detected!" the automated feminine voice of the installation shrieked through the cavernous vault. "Root privileges transferred: Subject Mateo Miller and Subject Marcos Miller. Imperial command revoked!"
"What have you done?!" Aurelius roared, his aristocratic composure shattering instantly. "Guards! Seize them! Kill them if you must, but preserve their cerebral cortices!"
The obsidian-armored sentries raised their weapons, but before a single trigger could be pulled, the entire floor beneath them magnetized with terrifying intensity. The heavy metallic armor of the guards was instantly dragged downward by an ultra-dense electromagnetic surge, slamming them face-first onto the deck with bone-snapping force. Their rifles were torn from their grips and pinned flat against the magnetic plating.
Aurelius staggered backward, his cane flying out of his hand and clattering against the magnetized floor.
Álvaro, wearing standard fabric prison clothes, escaped the magnetic snare, but crawled backward in utter horror, curling into a ball against the wall. "They're monsters... they aren't human... they're devils!"

Mateo walked calmly up to the master console, his fingers moving across the holographic keyboard with such velocity that they appeared as a blur of light. "You thought our mother's blue folder contained the key to your machine, Aurelius. But you never read the underlying logic."
"The blue folder was an algorithmic Trojan horse," Marcos explained, standing beside his brother. "It was designed to feed your family’s legacy systems the exact variables you wanted to see, while silently reprogramming the core's quantum operating system to recognize only one dual biological frequency."
