Inside the federal courthouse, Victoria Sterling stood before the judge in a wrinkled orange jumpsuit, stripped of her makeup, her designer gowns, and her aristocratic pride.
"Your Honor, my client comes from an upstanding family," her defense attorney pleaded desperately. "We request bail be set at—"
"Denied," the judge interrupted coldly, staring down at the billionaire heiress.

Victoria collapsed into her chair, sobbing hysterically as the reality of a concrete cell finally set in.
