Chapter 19 - The Rising Tempest

The entire Council of the Five Families erupted into shocked whispers and murmurs.
An elderly, respected mob boss from the Chicago family stepped forward, staring in awe at the five-year-old girl. "That mark on her left wrist... the crescent scar... she is Dr. Julian Moretti's daughter!"
"She is the primary heiress!" another boss shouted, lowering his weapon. "She carries forty percent of the Founding Trust!"
Lord Valenti’s face contorted into a mask of pure, unhinged madness. Realizing his entire coup was crumbling in front of three hundred witnesses, he drew a concealed silver revolver from his tuxedo jacket and pointed it straight at Lily’s head!
"If I can't have the trust, nobody gets it!" Valenti screamed.
BANG!
A single gunshot shattered the ballroom air.
Valenti gasped, dropping his silver revolver as he clutched his shattered shoulder, falling backward onto the velvet stage floor.
Dante lowered his smoking pistol, stepping onto the stage and placing his heavy leather boot directly over Valenti’s chest.
"Take him away," Dante ordered his enforcers coldly. "Hand him over to the federal authorities along with the offshore transaction logs. Let him spend his remaining years in a federal cage."
The remaining Valenti mercenaries immediately dropped their weapons, raising their hands in total surrender.
Dante turned back to the room, looking down at the three hundred assembled syndicate bosses.
"The Moretti family business is officially restructured," Dante announced, his voice carrying unbreakable, absolute authority. "From this day forward, Elena Vance will serve as the managing trustee, and Eleanor Moretti is the recognized heiress to the main line. Anyone who disputes this... can speak to me outside."
Not a single man in the room dared to speak. The elder bosses dropped to one knee, bowing their heads in unanimous respect.
Dante stepped off the stage, walking over to Elena and Lily. He dropped to one knee in front of the little girl, pulling out a small velvet box from his pocket.
Inside was a tiny silver bracelet engraved with the Moretti crowned lion crest.
"For the little girl who saved my life," Dante murmured softly, sliding the bracelet onto her wrist.

Lily beamed with joy, throwing her small arms around Dante’s neck. "Thank you, Uncle Dante!"
Dante looked up at Elena, his sharp gray eyes filled with a deep, quiet warmth that promised an eternal shield of protection.
