Chapter 4: The Boardroom Execution

The quarterly executive board meeting of Vance Enterprises was the most important financial gathering of the fiscal year. Sat around the massive mahogany table in the downtown headquarters were twelve senior board members, representing institutional investors from Tokyo to London.

Victoria Vance sat at the head of the table, projecting an image of absolute, unquestionable dominance. She had spent the morning reviewing reports from her security team in Malibu; they had assured her that Chloe was quietly sitting in the nursery.

"The expansion into the Pacific Rim residential development is moving forward as planned," Victoria announced to the room, her voice echoing off the glass walls. "Despite minor market volatility, our core assets remain entirely uncompromised."

"That is a lie, Mother," a voice rang out from the far end of the room.

Julian Vance stood up from his chair. He was no longer the disheveled, panicked husband from the night of the fall. He wore a sharp, bespoke black suit, his jaw set in stone, his eyes burning with cold, analytical fury.

"Julian, sit down," Victoria snapped, her eyes narrowing. "We will discuss your internal grievances in private—"

"We are not discussing anything in private ever again," Julian interrupted, his voice booming with authority. He signaled toward the heavy double doors of the boardroom.

The doors swung open.

Walking into the room, flanked by two senior corporate litigators from the most aggressive defense firm in New York—and supported by the healthy, recovered housekeeper Martha—was Chloe Vance.

She wore an immaculate, tailored white power suit that stood in stark contrast to Victoria’s dark navy armor. Her posture was flawless, her head held high, radiating the presence of a woman who had survived hell and returned to claim the throne.

Victoria stood up so fast her chair screeched against the floor. "What is the meaning of this?! Guards! Remove this woman from the building immediately!"

"The security personnel downstairs work for the new majority debt-holder of this building, Victoria," Chloe said calmly, walking toward the center of the table with slow, measured steps. "And they take their orders from me."

Chloe reached into her leather briefcase and slid a thick stack of audited financial documents across the polished mahogany table directly toward the institutional investors.

"What you are looking at, gentlemen," Chloe addressed the board, her voice clear and commanding, "is undeniable proof of securities fraud, illegal wire transfers to offshore accounts, and the systematic over-valuation of Vance Enterprises' core properties over the last seven years—all authorized solely by Victoria Vance."

The board members began flipping through the documents, their faces turning pale as they saw the bank statements and internal memos that Chloe and Julian had spent weeks uncovering.

"This is absurd!" Victoria shrieked, grasping her brass cane so tightly her knuckles turned white. "This is a forged smear campaign by a desperate, gold-digging—"

"I also filed a formal attempted murder indictment with the District Attorney's office at 8:00 AM today," Chloe continued, her eyes locking onto Victoria like a laser. She gestured toward Martha, who stepped forward, looking her former tyrant employer dead in the eye.

"I gave the District Attorney the original structural engineering reports for the rooftop terrace," Martha said, her voice steady and proud. "The reports showing that Miss Victoria personally ordered the support beams thinned out three weeks before the incident. I also gave them the recording of the settlement bribe she tried to force on me at the hospital."

The boardroom erupted into chaos. Investors were dialing their legal teams; executive vice presidents were backing away from Victoria as if she were radioactive.

Victoria looked around the room, her empire crumbling in real-time. She looked at her son, Julian, who stood beside his wife, his arm wrapped supportively around Chloe's waist.

"Julian..." Victoria whispered, her voice cracking with sudden, pathetic desperation. "I am your mother. I did everything to protect our name..."

"You ruined our name," Julian replied coldly. "And today, my wife and I are taking it back. You are out of the company, Mother. You are out of our lives. And the police are waiting for you in the lobby."
